24

“Wherever we run, wherever the sun finds us when he rises, we remain stuck with ourselves. That can be overwhelming. Sometimes I feel like my soul is polluted with politicians, each with a different point of view. With all 24 of them in disagreement, each voice is yelling to be heard. And so I am divided against myself. I feel that I am a hypocrite until I am one, when all of the yelling inside of me dies down. I’ve heard that the truth will set you free. That’s what I’m living for: freedom of spirit. I find unity and peace in none of the diversions that this world offers. But I’ve seen glimpses of truth and that’s where I want to run” - Jon Foreman

Twenty four oceans
Twenty four skies
Twenty four failures
Twenty four tries
Twenty four finds me
In twenty-fourth place
Twenty four drop outs
At the end of the day
Life is not what I thought it was
Twenty four hours ago

Still I’m singing Spirit take me up in arms with You
And I’m not who I thought I was twenty four hours ago
Still I’m singing Spirit take me up in arms with You

Twenty four reasons to admit that I’m wrong
With all my excuses still twenty four strong

See I’m not copping out not copping out not copping out
When You’re raising the dead in me
Oh, oh I am the second man
Oh, oh I am the second man now
Oh, oh I am the second man now

And You’re raising these twenty four voices
With twenty four hearts
With all of my symphonies
In twenty four parts
But I wan to be one today
Centered and true

I’m singing Spirit take me up in arms with You
You’re raising the dead in me
Oh, oh I am the second man
Oh, oh I am the second man now
Oh, oh I am the second man now
And You’re raising the dead in me

I want to see miracles, see the world change
Wrestled the angel, for more than a name
For more than a feeling
For more than a cause
I’m singing Spirit take me up in arms with You
And You’re raising the dead in me

Twenty four voices
With twenty four hearts
With all of my symphonies
In twenty four parts.
I’m not copping out. Not copping out. Not copping out.

Entertainment Value

I wanted to pass along some entertainment values I found.

I’ve watched more movies over the past month than I did in all of 2007.  To be honest, I was surprised at how many music are just horribly bad.  On that list, The Simpsons Movie, Shrek 3, Licence to Wed, Hostel II, and I would even throw in Balls of Fury to some degree.  There are others that are about what I expected such as 28 Weeks Later.  Then there are those movies that exceeded my expectations, which so happen to be my most recent rentals: The Heartbreak Kid with Ben Stiller (he carries this movie on his shoulders) and Wedding Daze.

If your looking for a solid movie to rent this weekend, Wedding Daze should be at the top of that list.  I would consider this a romantic comedy of sorts, but geared towards a male audience.  You’ll enjoy it, I guarantee it.

Oh and if you’re not into the movie scene, I’ve got some free music for you.  As you should know, Counting Crows are releasing a new album, their first since 2002 on March 25.  Out of the generosity of the band’s heart, they have put a couple of songs off their new album for free at countingcrows.com.  You can’t beat free.

Also, Jon Foreman of Switchfoot has released his second EP.  He plans on releasing four over the course of a year.  There is actually a deal through his website that will get you all four of the EPs for download and a signed poster for about $27 (includes shipping).  JonForeman.com Anyway, the music is different than the regular Switchfoot sound, much more accoustic and very mellow (depending on your definition of mellow).  The songs are also available on iTunes.

That’s all I got for now, enjoy.

Save The Whales…Or Not

I am huge environmentalist, and I am all about animal rights….because they’re humans…..in the form of animals.  Anyway,  I ran across this video that really summed up my feelings towards animal rights.

(Note: Clinch your butt while watching.)

Yep, save the pandas.  Didn’t see that one coming!

You’re welcome.
