Bacon Salt

Mother’s Day just passed yesterday and for some of you, your gifts were a last minute ordeal.  If you’ve never waited until the last second to get a Mother’s Day card, then you are missing out on a truely unique experience.  There’s nothing like waiting in line at Target to pick out a card on a Sunday afternoon.  Thankfully, I didn’t have to go through that this year.

To prevent waiting until the last second for my Father’s Day gift, I’ve decided to go ahead and knock this one out….and I would advise you to do the same.  This year I’m getting my dad a unique gift, a gift that most other fathers would kill for.  Maybe not kill for, probably just some drooling.  I myself have done a small amount of drooling.

The gift idea: bacon salt.

You may have no idea what this is.  Take a gander at their website: baconsalt.com.  Bacon Salt is simply a seasoning that you literally can put on anything and make it taste like bacon.  You can put it on a burger, fries, potatos, ice cream, eggs, the possibilities are endless.  And the best part, it’s good for you!  You get the bacon taste without the bacon.

Hopefully my dad doesn’t start reading my blog before June 15.  He may or may not be getting a three pack of original, peppered, and hickory Bacon Salt.

You can’t buy it in stores yet in this area.  Of course, whenever it becomes available in Food Lion, it probably wouldn’t be an appropriate Father’s Day gift.  So take advantage this year by having to order the delicacy of Bacon Salt via the internet for your dad.

National Sarcasm…er, um…Go Indians!

I was thinking all day Monday about what kind of post I was gonna put up for April Fool’s Day.  Honestly, I really couldn’t think of anything that would be out of this world funny or original.  Then I realized why, I’m naturally sarcastic and today, April 1 is my sabbath = rest for the sarcastic fold.  April Fool’s Day might as well be National Sarcasm Day.  Everyone around the world will try to make up a story hoping you’ll believe it, thus making you look stupid, which is basically the foundation of sarcasmism or what I call ‘Pillar I’.  It’s not that anyone who makes up an untrue story to trick someone (what I like to call lying) is being sarcastic, but honestly the good ones are.

So no sarcasm today.  I’m being serious, no really.  It’ll be tough, I know.

Instead I wanna take a moment and recognize the start of the 2008 MLB regular season.  That’s right, my Cleveland Indians will yet again screw with my emotions for roughly 6 to 7 months.

It’s a great time of the year, seriously, you can’t go wrong with baseball.

I’m hoping to take a trip again this summer to Jacob’s Field (yea, I know the name changed to Progressive Field…garbage).  I’m not sure when but it will probably be a Friday/Saturday trip sometime in July or August, very short but well worth it.  If there is anyone interested feel free to let me know.  From what I remember its about an 8 hour drive straight up I-77….literally.  If you never been to Cleveland you’ll get a chance to see the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame, Lake Erie, and a bunch of Drew Carey paraphenilia.  Ohhh, and there is also Canton, and for the love of all that is good and holy, you should know what is there.

Here are some pictures from my trip last August…

You’ll notice that I don’t look happy in the last picture…they lost to the Yankees.  It was pitiful.  It was also at this point that I realized that I had to drive back to Charlotte for the next 8 hours.

By the way, the Indians beat the ChiSox 10-8 last night… 1-0!!!

I promise, I’ll keep the baseball updates to a minimum.
